SAAC Announces 2008
Membership Class

After extensive reviews and assessment,the SAAC Board of Directors is proud to
announce its list of members for 2008.

"The growing interest in SAAC has required us to redefine our membership to truly reflect the makeup of our Association", explained Commissioner Lino Terra. "It is very important for us to maintain our standards and recognize those groups that have excelled in putting together top quality programs."

The top designation is the SAAC Academy, which recognizes groups that are meeting all SAAC standard and have full-time programs in at least four age groups. The 2008 Academy class includes Bryst FA, Power Player Academy, 1v1 Soccer, ANB Futbol and DPSoccer. >>>

      signs to attend Lincoln Memorial            University on Scholarship



  we are very happy to announce that our Player   Peter Fraiser has signed   to attend Lincoln Memorial University in the Fall and   play for

Head Coach Helio D’Anna and become a member of the Railsplitter

Soccer Team.   Peter has been a great addition to the SPA program,

  he is a wonderful   young man and   is an excellent player, he has good

  composure and has great pace and can score goals. In addition to strong

  skills with the ball, on and off the field, Peter is a leader and a hard worker.

   He sets an excellent example and will pursue  Kinesiology at LMU.

   Peter a an excellent student athlete and will contribute to Railsplitter

   soccer team.















Soccer Prospect to Host July Showcase in Ottawa
Soccer Prospect Academy is pleased to announce the hosting of a University Showcase Tournament. This years' tournament will be held on   the July 26-27 weekend at the University of Ottawa.

This is one of Ottawa's premier venues. The beautiful setting combined with quality teams will provide an environment for players to showcase their talents and to be seen and recruited by college coaches. There will be over 70 college coaches attending this event. This Showcase is a great opportunity for college coaches to view future college    bound players!

                                               Programs

SPA is a soccer Academy in the Ottawa area. We provide soccer
players    with the skills and knowledge to take them to the next level.
SPA's coaching philosophy is centered on a professional  non-dictative
method of coaching.   Players learn, develop   and understand the game
by using their own creativity.

The SPA focus is, above all, player development. All programs are geared toward this . The SPA's goal is to take serious soccer players to the college and professional levels.



                                  Training Style

The style   taught at our academy is one found often in programs of South America   and Africa, heavy ball control and skilled passing. We believe that physical fitness can be achieved through   playing with the ball and having fun. While important,     physical fitness training is only   one a   spect   in the   development    of   soccer
player. The most important aspect of   the SPA program is training.





                                        Program Duration

The SPA program runs throughout the year.It appeals to the elite player that is looking for a place to develop his / her full potential as a soccer player. The f ocus is not on winning games but on providing players with the skills and knowledge they need to succed at the next level.

SPA's partnership with a certified FIFA agent (required for signing professional contracts) allows us to act in a player management capacity. This linkage permits SPA to act as scout   within Canada and   sign players to professional contracts.



                                      Players Selection
Players in the SPA program must go through an individual player assessment before a decision can be made regarding player placement. Once placement is made each player will be provided with individual assessments   throughout   the year.
